Setup process

MEK has the shortest run-up of any Rust product we sell, but the order matters more than usual because the loader starts the game itself.

1. Install your overlay

AMD cards: Overwolf.

NVIDIA cards: the NVIDIA app.

Install it now and leave it running. MEK draws through it.

2. Turn protection off

Defender real time protection off, third party antivirus uninstalled rather than paused, and Vanguard, FACEIT and ESEA removed. See Antivirus and Windows Defender.

3. Install the runtimes

Visual C++ and the DirectX end user runtime, from Runtimes and DirectX. Install them even if you believe you already have them.

4. Download the loader

Your download link comes with your key. If you cannot find it, open a ticket in the CheatPlus Discord.

Put it in its own folder on a local disk. Not Downloads, not OneDrive, not a cloud synced folder.

5. Spoof now, if you are going to

6. Run the loader

Run it as administrator.

MEK starts Rust for you. Do not launch Rust yourself first.

7. Wait in the lobby

Once you reach the main menu or lobby, the menu and watermark appear on their own within a few seconds.

There is no key to press. If nothing appears after a reasonable wait, go to Troubleshooting.
