VPN and region problems

Some loaders fail to reach their authentication server on some connections. It looks like a broken product and is usually a blocked route.

Symptoms

• Unknown network error
• No available servers were found
• Failed to download files, repeatedly
• The download or key submission page will not load, or asks you to use a VPN
• The loader hangs on a login that never returns

Work through these in order

1. Check the status page. A product mid update produces the same symptoms as a blocked connection.

2. Retry once. A surprising number of these clear on the second attempt, particularly downloads.

3. Turn your VPN off, if you have one on. Many of these servers block traffic from datacentre and VPN address ranges outright, so the VPN is the problem as often as it is the fix.

4. Turn a VPN on, if you did not have one. Some ISPs, and most university, workplace and mobile networks, filter this traffic. A VPN routes around it.

5. Change your DNS. If the loader's domain will not resolve, set your DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 and try again.

6. Try a different network. A phone hotspot is the fastest way to prove whether the problem is your connection or the product. If it works on the hotspot, it is your ISP.

Which VPN

Any reputable one. Cloudflare WARP and TunnelBear are both free and are the two most often mentioned in vendor guides for this exact problem.

What a VPN does not do

It does not hide you from an anti-cheat, which is running on your machine, not on the network. It does not prevent or lift a ban, and it does not change your HWID. For that you need a spoofer, see HWID resets.
