HWID resets

What an HWID is

Your HWID is a fingerprint built from your hardware: motherboard serial, drive serials, network adapter and so on. When you first load a key, it binds to that fingerprint so the key cannot be used on two machines at once.

Change enough of the hardware and the fingerprint changes, so the key no longer matches and the loader rejects it.

What changes an HWID

Common, and usually a surprise:

• A new motherboard, or a BIOS update that regenerates identifiers
• A new drive, especially the Windows drive
• A clean Windows reinstall on different hardware
• Running a spoofer, which is the whole point of a spoofer
• A new network adapter, or occasionally a driver change

Not usually enough on their own: adding RAM, changing a graphics card, adding a second drive without touching the first.

Spoofers and HWID errors are easy to confuse

If you run a temporary spoofer, your hardware identifiers change every time you spoof. Some loaders cope, some do not.

The order that works

Every session, in this order:

1. Start your game launcher and sign in. Steam, Epic Games, Ubisoft Connect or the EA app.
2. Run your spoofer.
3. Run the product loader.
4. Launch the game.

How to ask for a reset

Open a ticket in the CheatPlus Discord with:

1. Your order ID, see Licences and keys
2. The product name
3. The exact error, as a screenshot
4. What changed on the machine, honestly. New drive, reinstalled Windows, started using a spoofer

Point four matters more than it looks. A reset on a machine that has not changed usually means something else is wrong, and saying so up front saves a round of questions.

What to expect

Resets are not instant and not unlimited. They go through the product's vendor, so the wait depends on which product you bought and what time of day it is.

Most vendors rate limit them. Predator, for example, allows one reset every 7 days. Others are looser or tighter, and the limit belongs to the vendor rather than to us, so we cannot raise it.

Repeated requests get refused. A key requesting resets every few days looks exactly like a shared key, which is the behaviour the binding exists to stop.

An HWID ban is a different thing

A reset moves your licence to new hardware. It does nothing about a game ban attached to your hardware, which is the anti-cheat's record, not ours.
