Overlay setup

Exodus has no renderer of its own. It borrows one from an app you already have, which is why an overlay app is not optional here. You need one of Medal or Discord running as administrator before the loader starts.

Pick whichever you already use. There is no feature difference between them.

Option 1: Medal

1. Install Medal.
2. Close it, then reopen it as administrator.
3. Leave it running and start the loader.

Option 2: Discord

1. Install Discord.
2. Close it from the system tray, then reopen it as administrator.
3. In User Settings, Game Overlay, enable the in game overlay.
4. In Registered Games, make sure your game is listed and the overlay toggle is on.

"No suitable overlay"

Discord only offers the overlay for a game it has registered. Launch the game first, then add it manually under Registered Games, then restart Discord as administrator.

Checking it worked

You will not see anything from the overlay app itself. The check is simply that it is running as administrator when you start the loader. If the loader injects and no menu appears at the game's main menu after three minutes, the overlay is the first thing to re-examine, followed by your display mode.
