Setup process

Do these in order. Ancient checks the machine at inject time, and almost every error it reports is one of these steps skipped rather than a fault with the product.

1. Get the machine ready

This is the long part, and it only has to be done once. System requirements covers all of it:

• BIOS: virtualisation on, Secure Boot off, AHCI, no RAID, Intel RST off.
• Windows: Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform and Core Isolation off.
• Intel machines: UEFI mode and a GPT disk.
• Riot Vanguard, FACEIT and ESEA uninstalled.

Reboot once after the BIOS changes before carrying on.

2. Set up your overlay

NVIDIA app on an NVIDIA card, SteelSeries GG on an AMD card, and on AMD the Sonar shortcut has to be set. Overlay setup has the details.

Get this right now rather than later. Without it the loader reports a render failure, which sends people looking at their graphics card instead of at the overlay.

3. Turn protection off

Ancient needs real time protection off, not just an exclusion, and any third party antivirus uninstalled rather than paused. The steps are on Antivirus and Windows Defender.

4. Install the runtimes

Visual C++ and the DirectX end user runtime, from Runtimes and DirectX. Install them even if you believe you already have them, because a damaged install looks exactly like a missing one.

Reboot after installing.

5. Download the loader

Download loaderundetect.net

Extract it to an ordinary local folder. Not OneDrive, not a network drive, not a cloud synced folder, and not left inside the archive.

6. Launch the loader and inject

1. Make sure your overlay app is running, and on AMD press F7 once.
2. Run the loader as administrator.
3. Enter your licence key.
4. Press Inject.

7. Launch the game

Start the game normally. Unlike the Exodus products, Ancient works in exclusive fullscreen, because both the NVIDIA app and SteelSeries GG can draw over it. Borderless and windowed are fine too.

Once you are past the menus, press Insert to open the product menu. Insert also closes it again.

Nothing happened

Work through Error codes, which is organised by the exact message the loader gave you. If there was no message at all, start with the last section of Overlay setup.

Where is my key?

It depends on the product. Keys delivered automatically are emailed once payment clears and appear in your Client Area. Most products are delivered by staff instead, which means a ticket in the CheatPlus Discord with your order ID. Licences and keys explains which applies to you and where to find your order ID.
